Elbow
Elbow injuries are common, especially among amateur and professional athletes. If you're experiencing pain or weakness that isn't improving with home care, the Center for Regenerative Sports & Spine Care offers a more focused approach to help your recovery. We provide treatment for a number of common elbow disorders, such as:
- Biceps tendon tear/tendonitis: The biceps tendon helps connect the biceps muscle to the shoulder and elbow, playing an important role in lifting, pulling, and rotating the arm. Irritation, inflammation, or tearing of the tendon can lead to pain near the front of the elbow, weakness with gripping or lifting, and discomfort during repetitive arm movement.
- Golfer's elbow/medical epicondylitis: Golfer's elbow involves irritation of the tendons attached to the inner side of the elbow. Repetitive gripping, lifting, or wrist flexion can overload these tissues, leading to pain that may extend into the forearm and worsen with use.
- Tennis elbow/lateral epicondylitis: Tennis elbow affects the tendons connected to the outer portion of the elbow, most often from repetitive strain involving the wrist and forearm. Many individuals notice pain while gripping objects, lifting items, typing, or performing repetitive hand movements.
- Ulnar neuropathy: Ulnar neuropathy develops when the ulnar nerve becomes compressed or irritated, commonly near the inside of the elbow. Symptoms may include numbness, tingling, weakness, or a “falling asleep” sensation affecting the ring finger, small finger, and hand.
